Meat Glue.
Last Thursday evening, Today Tonight had a very interesting story about Meat Glue, which has been banned in Europe, but is still used here in Australia. Please take 5 minutes to watch this by clicking here. This is a must viewing for Carnivores, and will surely get you thinking about ordering a steak, the next time you go to a Restaurant.
A few people have been asking about our Wagyu beef patties and sausages, so here’s a simple explanation.
“WA” means Japanese and “GYU” means cow, hence the name which simply means a breed of cattle originating in Japan.
Highly prized for their rich flavor, these cattle produce arguably the finest beef in the world. These different breeds produce beef that range from expensive (by any measure) to extremely expensive [about $60 per 150 grams of fillet steak, frozen]
The Wagyu cattle's genetic predisposition yields a beef that contains a higher percentage of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids than typical beef. The increased marbling also improves the ratio of mono-unsaturated fats to saturated fats.
Australian Wagyu cattle are grain fed for the last 300–500 days of production. Wagyu bred in Western Australia's Margaret River region often have Red Wine added to their feed as well
If you haven’t tried our Wagyu patties or sausages, then you can sample them at our Mobile Van at the Jetty Markets every second Sunday.
This week’s testimonial was sent to us from Sal Watts. Sal is an amazing cook, and her husband Dave is the envy of many.
“We’ve been getting our meat from the Hamsy’s since they started the business, and it’s absolutely delicious. I wouldn’t even contemplate getting our lamb or beef from anywhere else. We just can’t keep our little secret, a secret anymore. The sailing fraternity in Busselton keep asking me “How come your Dave is so strong? He’s just unbeatable out on the water.” Popeye the Sailor got his strength from eating spinach. My David gets his amazing strength from 5 Star Mobile Meats.”
Please feel free to send us your testimonials and recipes to add to our website. Click here to view our most recent receipe 'Dad's Rissoles'
The following true story just has to be shared.
A blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons or prior experience.
She mounts the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately springs into action.. as it gallops along at its steady and rhythmic pace, the blonde begins to slip from the saddle.
In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but despite her best efforts, slides down the horse's flanks.
The horse continues to gallop along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider. Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety.
Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup.
She is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground time and time again.
As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune, Frank, the Woolworth's trolley boy, sees her dilemma and unplugs the horse.
Have a great week, and please pass this on to all of your friends and family.
